In November of 2009, I commissioned Eclypse of FA (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/eclypse) for a Celtic pawprint badge. I paid her $15 cash in person and still have yet to see the badge. She completely ignored notes for a long time, finally told me she had had the inks completed for a long time and planned to send out some badges at the beginning of October, and hasn't contacted me since. My last FA note to her, on October 8th, is still unread.
I know she has quite a few other commissions and trades in her queue, so I'm somewhat surprised I haven't seen her name here yet. Then again, it's taken me this long...
I'm usually an extremely patient person with commissions, and if someone has a queue posted and I see them make progress on it, I won't ask them about it, even if it takes several months. So, I sent her a note on June 13th politely inquiring about it. She read the note and never responded, so I sent another inquiry on June 30th. She responded a few days later saying, "Hey hon, sorry about that. Life kinda grabbed me by the throat and I've been running around like decapitated poultry. I will get the badge done up for you, just need the colors again and the address to send it to. Thanks hon." I responded right away with the address and colors I wanted it in.
On July 27th, I sent her a note informing her of a new shipping address. She responded the next day and said "thanks for the update" but didn't mention the badge. (I think it's amusing to note that I've lived at three different addresses since I commissioned here, haha.)
On September 9th, I sent her a note saying: "Hey Eclypse, It's been another couple months since I asked you about the badge and at this point I'd really just like to ask for a refund. I'm not mad or anything and I'm sorry if you still have personal stuff going on, but I could use the money more than I want to keep waiting. Would you be able to do that for me? Much appreciated, Mino"
She logged in, read it, and did note respond, so on September 12, I said: "Eclypse, I've tried being polite and patient for a very long time, but it's really not very professional to completely ignore my note about a refund. If you're not going to be able to get me a refund at this point after waiting ten months and ignoring notes, I'm just going to make a post on Artists_Beware over on LJ about this. Hopefully I'll hear back from you this time so we can end this on better terms than that. --Mino"
She finally responded on September 25: "I do still plan to do it up for you and I apologize for the long wait. >.< I can see what I can do about sending at least $10 with it soon as I get it done. Have linework, just need to finish it. **sigh** There are days I hate my life, but I won't bore you with the details. Apologies again..."
I responded and said I didn't realize she had started it already and I wouldn't make her refund me if I got the badge. I asked for a time frame and said I didn't mind her telling me her personal stuff if she wanted to.
So, she told me in a fair bit of detail what's going on in her personal life, which is fine; I asked, because I met her, enjoyed her company, thought she was a very nice person. She ended that note with, "As for when I'll have it done, I'm trying to get it done so I can send it as soon as I get my next check the beginning of October. I need to send a couple out then actually. >.<
I told her I'd be in touch if I didn't hear from her come October.
Which, of course, I didn't. I sent her a note on October 8th asking if she had it ready to send out, since she said she was sending badges out at the beginning of October. That note is still unread. And on October 22nd, I tried sending her an email (I got the address from a mutual friend), to which she also never responded
Edit: I don't know why, but all I typed didn't get posted. I must have accidentally deleted it. Anyway, I was just going to say that I'm not sure there's anything else I can do but wait it out... like I said, I'm not the only one on her queue, so I'm curious if anyone else has had problems with her communicating.
