Sharaww - Wolfacabra

 Hey all. Not trying to trash anyone, but hoping someone can put me in contact w/ the artist Sharaww. She had a site, wolfacabra.com, and offered in her LJ animated icons. I requested and paid for one on May 6th of 2009. Was told I'd get it in a few days. 

Waited. 

Tried contacting her a few times through her LJ, first time was told life had been crazy and she was having computer troubles. i told her don't worry, I understand, cuz I do. Was told it would be done soon. 

Waited some more.

Tried her LJ again. No response. 

Long story short, it's now nearly 4 months later, wolfacabra.com is no more, she's not responding to her LJ...I've looked to see if she has a DA page, and couldn't find any listing.

Anyone know where she is? I was excited about the icon, and it was only 7 bucks, (I paid 8$ to cover paypal and tip a bit) so not out a ton of money, but the fact remains that I paid for art and have not gotten it. The artist has disappeared, and I have no way to contact them or even request a refund if the art isn't done. I mean, I'd rather have the icon, her examples were really cute, but if I'm not getting the art I'd kinda like my money back, which I don't think is unreasonable.

Suggestions?

She runs a regular meet in Rhode Island, I've met her a few times in person during the early part of the summer when I stayed in RI with a friend.

I only go when I visit RI, but there are a few people that attend, maybe someone can let her know in person. Don't know why she's not responding, I think her internet is periodically fritzy =/ she's a very good artist and draws very quickly, I wonder if it just got forgotten? I have no idea why one wouldn't get a simple icon done.

If anyone knows RI furs that go to this, perhaps someone could politely let her know I'm trying to contact her?

Dead to the internets, mid-reanimation

Hey, it's Sharaaw. It's been a hell of a few months, and I dropped off the face of creation. Due to local personal drama, I've pretty much been dead to the nets for a few months.

For putting up with waiting forever and ever and ever and EVER to hear back from me, I'll be doing you a conbadge and wallpaper for free. I can't appologize enough.

Please contact me asap; I'd like to get your icon to you. And let me know what you'd like for a wallpaper. And if you have contact with others who have placed commissions, pass that email along to them.

HEY! Thank you for getting back to me, and I'm, glad you're still alive and ticking! I hope things are better now, and sent you an email. PLEASE don't worry about the conbadge and such, the icon is more than fair, esp. if the delay was unavoidable. I'm just glad to hear from you.

Nope, not yet. Emailed her again a few days ago, and she requested the ref pic for our puppy again. Not sure why, since she said last email that is was almost done. Assuming she had computer issues, or else it wasn't really being worked on.

Waiting to hear back from her w/ the icon finished. S'kinda sad, there are so many talented artists in the fandom, who are awesome. Unfortunately there are also some who simply don't take doing art for money as a real business transaction. I mean, an 8$ icon? Over 6 months?

Whatever. Will wait and see if she delivers. If there's nothing by the New Year I'm going to tell her forget it and I'd just like the money back. It's not a lot of cash, but that's not the point. I didn't offer a donation, I purchased an icon.

Please let me know if this is ever resolved so I can tag it as such. It's a shame anyone thinks it's okay to run off with someone's money, so I wish you luck!

Like I said, not a ton of money, but it's the principle. I'd really rather have the icon, because the ones she showed on her site (now defunct) were adorable!
