So while I was out at AC over the weekend, the badge I commissioned arrived and I am definitely happy with it. I'll have to get a card holder/laminate it so that I can attach a clip to it but that's hardly a big deal. So all in all, I am happily marking this issue as resolved.

As an aside, I've also been speaking with her over notes/IMs for a while about the other issues that have been brought up by other people, and she requested that I let everybody know that if you have an outstanding commission with her, that you should politely (emphasis hers) send her a note on FA regarding said commission.

I hope everybody else manages to get their issue resolved as I have mine, and I bid everybody adieu. =3

She should really be contacting her customers, not expecting them to contact her so she can write them off if they don't happen to read AB. That always seemed underhanded to me. People shouldn't have to chase her.

That said, glad to hear you got your badge. But I admit I don't think you would have if you hadn't posted here.

I doubt that, but I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to get her to delete it.

My biggest problem with Starfinder is her total and utter lack of regret for what she's done to people. She isn't sorry. She never apologizes. She really thinks she's done nothing wrong, and that she's too good to be held responsible for her actions. She is very much too big for her britches.

It always turns into excuses (like someone below has said), where it's everyone else's fault, they just aren't being patient enough, they don't understand how haaaaaard her life is, blah blah blah. As long as she is completely unwilling to even consider that she really is in the wrong with how she treats customers, she will never change and I will never be able to recommend anyone commission her.

Unfortunately, as long as people do keep throwing money at her, she has no real motivation to clean up her act. She can treat people like garbage and get away with it because of her skill at being a human photocopier. For every person she runs off with her bad attitude, 30 more replace them willing to kiss up and throw away their money.

The whole thing just really frustrates me. It's been so many years, she should have grown up by now (but hasn't because there are so many enabling furries out there). Sorry for the tl;dr. I just hate seeing this situation come up over and over and over again, and then she only does the art to try to get people off her back.

There just... isn't any reason for her to learn anything. There's still far too many people who enable her bad habits. Until the day the fandom rejects her, she literally has no reason to shape up, as her own conscience is apparently broken.

There's a mild chance of that, however. There's a formerly popular artist who did similar things to people over the years, and eventually, they were banned from FA, and their reputation nosedived so badly that now.. well.

I see them posting to all sorts of art sale communities and never, ever getting any interest. Even their personal journal will be filled with cries for commissions, no comments, and unfilled slots. They used and abused the fandom so badly that now, nobody wants anything to do with them. And if they had just not been so stubborn about playing the victim while continuing to rip people off.. they could still be making loads of money.

It'll take longer because SF is far more popular than the artist I'm referring to, but it might very well happen eventually. Said artist still doesn't seem to have figured out why nobody will commission them or talk to them now, but at least they aren't really getting to rip people off anymore.

If you think you know who I'm referring to, please don't mention names. I just wanted to use it as an example of consequences. :)

All that said, I wish people like SF would understand how far a genuine apology will get you. Pretty damned far.

The other problem that we have is that she has how many screen names? And people who know her by one (that has a rep) might not know her under another. =\ Thus getting caught in a trap cos they see pretty art.

That pretty much hits the nail on the head with her.

I agree and disagree... I'm confident age can correct ignorance, but I don't really think people change that much. If she didn't have a moral compass whenever she came online I don't think she's likely to grow one even without a fawning fanbase.

Possibly not, I know another artist that lost their fanbase after enough abuse, and they still haven't gotten it.

But at the very least, it would mean she couldn't rip people off anymore, and that's still a plus.

Oh, definitely.

I just threw that particular 2c in there because I've seen many people, including some awesome artists, attempt to "take her under their wing" and teach her how to do things properly. People keep wanting to save her from herself, it's not gonna happen.

At least she has enough business sense to not be a total scammer. At this point I'd bet the only way to change her would probably be to drive it home that it costs her $$, and as you say that'd only happen if people stopped commissioning her until she figured out how to put up a professional front XP I don't think she'd feel BAD for what she'd done, but she'd be forced to do things properly. Maybe. IDK.

Yeah, she's not going to see it as costing her money since she takes pretty limited slots and anyone who would back out is easily replaced...

I know people personally who have been ripped off by her and will never get anything for the money they lost. I kept hoping something would get through to her. She was really young when she started, but there's no excuse other than ego now...

With everything that I have read about this girl...I wonder why people bother? o_O she has no regret, no remorse for any of the things she has done. Doesn't see anything wrong with what she is doing. Thus in her mind doesn't need any help...She'll remain blind until she hits rock bottom....

Weren't you owed something too? Gonna ask her about it and let us know how it goes? (I might be thinking of the wrong person, sorry if that's the case)

She chats with my roommate enough that messages have been relayed. She is unable to provide what I would require for resolution at this time.

That's kinda funny. She expects people to politely contact her... and when they do politely contact her, she explodes in a snarky fit. To paraphrase what she told a friend of mine last night: "Well SOME of us don't have a stable job like you do, and I'm always in financial trouble. I have to pay the bills somehow, I'm not going to let my credit get ruined" when plied about a badge that is like, 4 years overdue, yet she was still taking new commissions.

Really... just... wow. I'm hoping that everyone who commissioned her gets their art. :/

Can I totally get an "AMEN!" to that!

The way she treats people is deplorable. Maybe if she wouldn't keep blowing all her cash on expensive wolfdogs and photography equipment, she might, you know, have some money?

And yes... get a real job. I don't know if she's in school or not... but even so, a part time job is do-able. I have to wonder. Doesn't she live with her boyfriend? If so, maybe he should help with the bills while she refunds people she's scammed. :/

But you said it yourself. Sometimes. I too have been like that, sloowwwly learning the hard way; plus I have a mortgage now too =\...But the "I want" doesn't just mean for material things; she looks like she wants everyone else to do the leg work for her.

LOL I think as a teen you can kinda get away with it, unless you don't live at home. I find many people live far above their pay grand :(...Or want to live.

She worked at one of those Picture People places in a mall a few years back (if I recall correctly), but she mostly complained and whined because the other employees 'didn't like her' and were 'out to get her'.

Even a part time job is worth considering. I work 25 hrs 3 days a week at an art store, and live off of my art the other 4 days. At least she'd have back up money- and then she can stop accepting new commissions to pay her bills and get back to her list ofp eople she owes things to..that seems like the most logical resolution i see for her. The money she gets from a part time job could cover her while she works on that "backlog".

I am glad this is resolved and I think I can foresee other posts about her in a similar note happening... I hope, at least. And yes, politeness can get you far even if you're the one in the right. Crap happens, people don't like their mistakes shoved down their throat.

It's good you got this resolved for you.

As for people having to message her....WTF? er no...She should have a record of commissions she's taken and be able to contact all of them herself. She just wants to skip out on teh hard work and do the fun stuff. ~_~
